Terms of Use

These terms cover the Dayworld app and this website, dayworld.space ("Dayworld"). By using either, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use Dayworld.

What Dayworld is

Dayworld is a personal tool for keeping a day: a meditation and focus timer, a record of your own time, a birth chart and a daily reading, and a timeline of your life. It has no accounts and stores your entries on your own device. See the privacy policy for what that means in detail.

Provided as it is

Dayworld is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. It may contain errors, may be unavailable at times, and may change or be discontinued. Astronomical positions are computed with a low-precision method that is accurate to within a few arcminutes for most bodies; it is not suitable for navigation, research, or any purpose where precision matters.

Readings are for reflection, not advice

Birth charts, transits and daily readings in Dayworld are offered for reflection and enjoyment. They are not advice — not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind — and nothing in them should be relied on when making a decision that matters. Use your own judgement, and consult a qualified professional where one is called for.

Not a health service

The meditation and focus timers are timers. Dayworld is not a medical device, not a therapy, and not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you switch on Apple Health, a finished sitting is written there as Mindful Minutes: that is a record of how long a timer ran, not a measurement of your body or your mind, and nothing in Dayworld is diagnostic. If you are struggling with your mental or physical health, please seek help from someone qualified to give it. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

What you write is yours

Everything you enter in Dayworld remains yours. It stays on your device unless you choose to sync it — to your own Notion database, or to Apple Health and Apple Calendar on the same device. The developer claims no rights over it and never receives it.

What is ours

The Dayworld name, the crescent mark, the app, this site, and their text, design and code belong to their author. You may use Dayworld for your own purposes; please do not copy, republish, or redistribute its content or design as your own.

Third parties

Optional Notion sync is governed by your own agreement with Notion. Optional Apple Health and Apple Calendar sync writes into Apple's own apps on your device, under your agreement with Apple; both are off until you turn them on, and either permission can be withdrawn in iOS Settings at any time. If you obtained the app from Apple's App Store or Google Play, that store's terms apply to the download and to any purchase.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of Dayworld, including lost entries or lost time. Because your data lives on your device, keeping your own backups is up to you.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The current version is always at this URL, with the date at the top. Continuing to use Dayworld after a change means you accept the updated terms.
